3 Lady Tigers receive state recognition in lacrosse

Juniors Lizzie LaVangie, Samanda Cox and Aisling Fields have received state recognition for their performance during the 2017 girls’ varsity lacrosse season.  

LaVangie was chosen for Honorable Mention for the 2017 Georgia High School All-Star Lacrosse Team. She led the Lady Tigers with 41 goals, 11 assists, 83 draw controls and 78 ground balls. LaVangie was recognized as the 2017 Most Valuable Player for the team.  

Cox and Fields were chosen for the 2017 AAAAA-A All Area 2 Girls’ Lacrosse team.

Cox was a true leader on the team and exemplified the Lady Tiger spirit and attitude throughout the season. With 25 goals, 10 assists, 78 ground balls and 41 draw controls, she was recognized as the 2017 Best Offensive Player.  

Fields was a solid defensive player this year, ending the season with 32 ground balls. She also aided in the transition of the team’s game and received the 2017 Most Improved Award.
