Student-athletes recognized at Winter Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in wrestling, swimming and diving and girls' and boys' basketball were recognized at the Winter Sports Assembly on Monday, Feb. 27 in Morris Chapel. 

In wrestling: 

Sophomore Rhett McDurmon from Rome, Ga. received the Scholar and Pillar Award. 

Junior Davis Peek from Cedartown, Ga. also received a Pillar Award. 

Sophomores Colton Woods from Cedartown, Ga. and Dalton Blankenship from Aragon, Ga. both received the Most Valuable Performer Awards. 

In girls' swimming and diving: 

Senior Sara Dickinson from Cairo, Ga. received the Scholar Award.

Senior Avery Smith from Rome, Ga. received the Pillar Award. 

Senior Melinda Childs from Rome, Ga. received the Most Valuable Performer Award. 

In boys' swimming and diving: 

Senior Tanner Shadday from Rome, Ga. received the Scholar Award and Pillar Award.

Sophomore Samson Mumber from Rome, Ga. received the Most Valuable Performer Award. 

In girls' basketball:

Senior Kelsey Garrett from Rome, Ga. received a Scholar Award.

Junior Jasmine Sparkman from Cartersville, Ga. received a Scholar Award and Pillar Award. 

Senior Anna Claire Atha from Rome, Ga. received a Scholar Award and Most Valuable Performer Award. 

In boys' basketball: 

Junior Sam Tackeberry from Matthews, NC received the Scholar Award. 

Senior Chase Pittman from Rome, Ga. received the Pillar Award. 

Senior J.T. Mumber from Rome, Ga. received the Most Valuable Performer Award.
