Student-athletes recognized at Fall Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in varsity cheerleading, crew, cross country, football, softball and volleyball were recognized at the Fall Sports Assembly on Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Morris Chapel.

 

In cheerleading:

Senior Anna Katherine Cates of Rome received the Scholar Award and the Most Valuable Person Award.

 

Senior Sara Bailey Yoder of Rome received the Pillar Award.

 

In crew:

Junior Stacey Chen and Cooper Brock, both of Rome, received the Scholar awards.

 

Junior Gabby Jones and Holt Brewster Jr., both of Rome, received the Pillar awards.

 

Seniors Sara Dickinson of Cairo, Ga., Tanner Shadday of Rome and Evan Gober of Rome were recognized as Most Valuable Rowers.

 

In cross country:

Juniors Emily Edwards  and David Hagler, both of Rome, received the Scholar awards.

 

Junior Emily Edwards of Rome and senior Henry Fields of Kingston received the Tiger awards.

 

Senior Kate Flory and sophomore Lawson Blake of Rome were recognized as Most Valuable Runners.

 

In football:

Seniors William Groover of Calhoun, Ga., Sam Berry of Rome and Ethan Mark Delashmit of Acworth, Ga. received  Scholar awards.

 

Ethan Delashmit also received the Heart of a Tiger award.

 

Senior Elijah McKoy of Rome, senior Burt Michael Tidwell of Cartersville, Ga. and junior Jacob Hunt of Rome were awarded as Captains.

 

In softball:

Junior Jasmine Sparkman of Cartersville, Ga. received the Scholar award.

 

Junior Aisling Fields of Cordele, Ga. received the Pillar award.

 

Sophomore Sydney Seymour of Rome was named Most Valuable Player.

 

In volleyball:

Junior Callie Maffett of Rome received both the Scholar and Pillar awards.

 

Junior Julia Holmes of Rome was named Most Valuable Player.
