Fourth-grade students Joseph Hall and Jennifer Hughes have been recognized by the Rome Noon Optimist Club as Terrific Kids representing Darlington's ELA-8 division. Both students were nominated and voted on by their teachers as young role models who demonstrate a commitment to a positive attitude and good behavior.

Joseph Hall has attended Darlington since August. His favorite subject is social studies. He swims, plays basketball, soccer, tennis and piano, with the hope of becoming a professional soccer player one day. He is the son of Beth Hall of Cassville, Ga.

Jennifer Hughes has been at Darlington since pre-kindergarten. Her favorite subject is writing, and she plays basketball, piano and trombone. When she grows up, she would like to be a teacher. She is the daughter of Richard ('84) and Kathleen (Smith) Hughes ('84) of Rome.

Darlington's Terrific Kids were honored by the Optimist Club earlier this week at a special banquet, where they were joined by fourth-grade teacher Elisabeth Lawson.
