6 named to All-Area Soccer boys’ teams for small schools

Six athletes from Darlington's varsity soccer team have been honored with placement on the All-Area Soccer boys' first and second teams.

The following students were named to the All-Area first team:
Rising senior Tanner Berry finished this season in second on the team in goals with 20, including three penalty kicks, and added seven assists. He is the son of Sam and Andrew Berry of Rome.


Junior Jack Pearson scored 14 goals during the season and two assists. He is the son of Leslie and Jack Pearson of Rome.


Phillipp Hoestermann, of Essen, Germany, finished the year off as Darlington's keeper with 76 saves and 16 goals allowed, and helped facilitate six shutouts and four one-goal games.

Rising junior Hollis Ledbetter, sophomore Harris Peek, and junior Noah Woford were named to the All-Area second team.
