8 named to All-Area Track and Field girls’ team

Eight of Darlington's Lady Tigers have been named to the All-Area Track and Field girls' team for small schools. 

Kinslee Clevenger (‘15) of Rome took home eighth place in the Class AA State Meet (800-meter) and runner-up in the Region 7-AA 800-meter run.

 

Sophomore Emily Edwards placed in 10th in the 3,200-meter run in the Class AA State Meet. She is the daughter of Nancy and Clay Edwards of Rome.

 

Junior Kate Flory finished in ninth place at the Class AA State Meet (1,600-meter), and was runner-up in the Region 7-AA 1,600-meter run. She is the daughter of Katharine and John Flory of Columbus, Ga.

Lauren Hooper (‘15) of Rome took home fourth place at the Class AA State Meet and was also crowned 3,200-meter Region 7-AA champion.

 

Paige Mavity (‘15) of Alpharetta, Ga. finished in sixth in pole vault at the Class AA State Meet, and won the Region 7-AA championship.

 

Junior Miju Obanikoro was a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished in fifth place at the Class AA State Meet. She is the daughter of Moroophat and Mohammed Obanikoro of Lagos, Nigeria.

 

Liz Phelps (‘15) of Atlanta placed in 16th at the Class AA State Meet in the 100-meter hurdles.

 

Emily Swafford (‘15) placed in 15th (400-meter) and 11th (300-meter hurdles) at the Class AA State Meet. She was also champion in the Region 7-AA 400-meter run and the 300-meter hurdles.
