Tiger alumni who once ran the fields with Darlington School Soccer Academy continue to make waves in the college soccer world with various accomplishments this spring.

Soccer Academy and Darlington School alumna Jane Campbell ('13) recently participated in a third U23 National Team soccer camp. The ladies' team will comprise the majority of Team USA in Rio de Janeiro at the
XXXI Olympiad in summer 2016.

"The Rio Olympics are definitely in her sights," said Chad Liddle, Soccer Academy director. "She is just two women away from the 'throne.'"

Last November, Campbell led the Stanford Cardinal to the NCAA College Cup championship after saving two penalty kicks and scoring a final kick.

While at Darlington, Jane trained and played in the FIFA U17 World Cup for the US National Team. The Kennesaw, Ga. native has been named a "Women's Soccer Game-Changer" by Sports Illustrated and the 2012 Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition to playing the position of goalkeeper in the Soccer Academy, she also played varsity basketball at Darlington.

Just last month, Dylan Faber ('12) was named the male Student-Athlete Support Services Student-Athlete of the Year at Northeastern University. The program recognizes athletes with a commitment to academic achievement, excellence in leadership, and service as an exemplary student on and off the field. When the alumnus begins his senior year this fall, he will become captain of the university's soccer team.

In October 2013, Faber was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Player of the Week.

"Dylan left an imprint here not just on the field but as a leader on campus. He is such a dynamic person," said Liddle.

At Darlington, Faber served as head resident prefect of Summerbell House and was a two-time recipient of the school's Morris Scholarship. He originally hails from Anchorage, Alaska.

This spring, Ian Winder (‘14) played two first-round 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier games as a member of the Men's Bahamian National Team. Bahamas lost to Bermuda with an aggregate score of 0-8 over the two games, as Bermuda moved on to play Guatemala for a chance at the World Cup.

Winder is currently a student at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he helped the Spartan soccer team to qualify for the A-Sun Tournament for only the second time since the school moved to NCAA Division I in 2010.

In addition to playing in the Soccer Academy at Darlington, Winder was also active on the track and field team. As a junior he helped garner the Tigers a fifth consecutive area championship, and as a senior was honored as a member of the All-Area First Team. The alumnus also served as head resident prefect of Neville House.

"The Darlington environment was a good place for Ian to come for exposure," said Liddle. "Here, he was showcased to hundreds of soccer coaches."

Winder is a native of Nassau, Bahamas.

"Darlington has always been supportive of Soccer Academy players," said Liddle. "Because of games, tournaments, and other academy events, sometimes our students must miss class, but are still given the opportunity to succeed in the classroom, making up their work when their busy schedules necessitate doing so."
