Darlington sophomore Anna Claire Atha has been named to the AA All-State first team in basketball by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA).
"Anna Claire is the true definition of a hard-working student-athlete," said Bob Stinchcomb, Darlington's Athletic Director. "She has an extremely high work ethic in class and
on the basketball court."
Earlier this month, Atha was named Darlington's Player of the Year by the Northwest Georgia Tip-Off Club. Her accomplishments were also recognized in March
with an Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award and Captain's Award.
In January, she set a Lady Tigers school record in basketball, scoring 43 points in a showdown against Hardway, with Darlington ultimately winning 84-48.
"This Tiger is a leader on her team, and works year-round on her game," added Stinchcomb. "We applaud all of her accomplishments this season."
Anna Claire is the daughter of Cathe and Tommy Atha of Rome, and the sister of Maggie Beth (‘14), Tommy (‘19) and Katherine (‘25).
