Darlington School alumnus Payton Bradford (‘05) has been named the editor-in-chief of the 50th anniversary edition of Georgia Law Review. His tenure on the executive board for the volume will begin in the fall for the 2015-16 school year.

"This is the biggest honor of my law school career, and something I'm tremendously excited about," said Bradford. "It's going to be a lot of work, but well worth it and very rewarding."

Bradford came to Darlington as a second-grader, and was active in concert choir and band. As an upperclassman, he served on House Senate as vice president, and as head day prefect in what was then known as Barnes House. As a senior, Bradford was honored with the Darlington Medal for General Excellence, and was named valedictorian of the Class of 2005.

"At Darlington I developed my love of reading and writing in middle school, and really attribute that to my later interest in academic and scholarly writing," said Bradford.

Georgia Law Review was established in 1966 as the primary publication of the University of Georgia School of Law. The quarterly magazine is staffed by second- and third-year law students, and provides a place for them to develop a variety of skills for work in the legal arena and to discuss legal reform. Content published in the magazine comes from judges, law professors, legal practitioners and Georgia Law Review members.

Bradford graduated with a bachelor of arts in political science in 2009 from the University of Georgia, where he was in the honors program as a Foundation Fellow, the top undergraduate scholarship at the college.

Bradford is currently pursuing his juris doctor degree from UGA, and will graduate in 2016.

Payton Bradford is the son of former Thornwood School student Beth (Brock) Bradford of Rome, and the late former Darlington student Wyatt Bradford.

He resides in Athens, Ga. with wife Emma.
