The Middle School boys' basketball team finished the first half of their season undefeated at 6-0. So far, they have won playing Cedartown (59-40), Rockmart (58-27), Coosa (38-29), Model (48-6), Chattooga (63-29) and Pepperell (50-17).

Eighth-graders JD Hull and Andrew Land are tied for the team's lead in scoring, each with an average of 15 points per game. Land has also hit 12 three-point baskets. On average, seventh-grader Griffin Brewster has been scoring eight points per game, seventh-grader Tate Ratledge a total of seven, and eighth-grader Tommy Atha at six.

"We have a very talented team this year with four returning starters from last year," said Kevin Ivester, Middle School boys' basketball coach. "These guys have a lot of experience and have played extremely well in the first half of the season. We have gotten contributions from lots of new guys as well, so we hope to keep it rolling in January and into the tournament."

Other players on the team include eighth-graders Ezra Barnette and David Braden, as well as seventh-graders Carter Anderson, Hank Crawford, Gill Mauer and Jake Simpson.
