Darlington will host a Barnes & Noble Book Fair Dec. 12-13 at the Rome store. Anyone purchasing merchandise or refreshments from Barnes & Noble during this two-day period should simply let the cashier know that they want Darlington to receive credit, and the school will receive a portion of the sale. Online shoppers may use Bookfair ID 11445913 Dec. 12-18 and Darlington will receive proceeds from these orders.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for members of our community to get some of their holiday shopping done while supporting Darlington at the same time,” said Jennifer Helbing, ELA-8 dean of students. "We would love for our families to join us at Barnes & Noble after the ELA-8 Holiday Festival next Friday as we kick off the fair."
The following activities will take place at Barnes & Noble in conjunction with the fair:
Friday, Dec. 12
4:00 p.m. - Story time with retired kindergarten teacher Janice Cox
4:30 p.m. - Story time with first-grade teacher Rachel Harrison (and Cpt. Rodney!)
6:30 p.m. - DarBots robotics demonstration
7:00 p.m. - Elf on the Shelf Adoption featuring an appearance by Santa
7:30 p.m. - Live music with sophomore Ian Kinney
Saturday, Dec. 13
10:30 a.m. - Meet & Greet with the Darlington Tiger and Middle School basketball cheerleaders/sidewalk chalk
11:00 a.m. - Story time with retired teacher Barbara Cordle
11:30 a.m. - Story time and art activity with pre-K teacher Beth Smith
1:00 p.m. - Story time with ELA-8 Director Hope Jones
1:30 p.m. - Kindergarten performance
1:45 p.m. - Caroling with 4th & 5th Grade Chorus
2:00 p.m. - Science demonstration/activity with ELA-8 Dean of Studies Angela Pieroni
