Darlington Soccer Academy girls gave a strong performance in all three games played at the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) Girls Showcase in Raleigh, Nov. 21-23, 2014.

U19 Girls defeated CSL FC Fury, 1-0, thanks to a goal from Mimi Sarkodie. The girls also scored a win against 96 CASL Ladies Black, 2-1, with help from Sarkodie and Brookie Wallace. Completing their time in North Carolina was a tied match vs. FC Richmond Mystx 96, 0-0.

"This year's event was by far the best one for our girls in our over 10-year history of attending CASL," said Chad Liddle, director of the Soccer Academy. "Winning our first two games and getting a tie in our third will help us get our spot there next year."

CASL is one of the country's largest college showcase events. Over 80 college coaches were on-hand to view the matches during the three-day event, including representatives from Ivy League institutions Dartmouth College and Yale University, along with NCAA Division I, II and III schools from across the nation.

"The girls saved their best soccer for this event," said Jamey Newsome, assistant director of the Soccer Academy. "I am proud of how they competed and hope the exposure they received will pay off for them."
