Lisa Goldin, Darlington’s director of the Glenn Teaching and Learning Center, has been invited to preside over and moderate selected sessions at the Learning & the Brain Conference in Boston, Nov. 20-22, 2014.

The conference brings together experts from the fields of neurology, psychology and education, and will concentrate on this year's chosen theme: “Focused, Organized Minds: Using Brain Science to Engage Attention in a Distracted World.”

Goldin was selected to introduce presenting experts in the collective field, including Gary D. Stoner, PhD, Randy Kulman, PhD, Dr. Naomi J. Steiner, and C. Shawn Green, PhD. As a part of her role, Goldin will also help facilitate the question and answer portion of the seminar in three breakout sessions:  "Improving Executive Function and Attention Using Technology," "The Impact of Computer Cognitive and Neurofeedback Training on Attention,” and “Neuro-Gaming: Enhancing Perception, Attention and Cognition with Video Games."

Goldin also attended last year’s conference, where she volunteered to have her brain scanned for participants to observe while she performed routine motor skills.

Also in attendance and representing Darlington will be Learning Center specialists Jean Bonnyman and Anna Yarborough, English teacher Gregg Marshall, academic dean David Powell, and science teacher Phil Titus.
