Harper named October Student of the Month

Outstanding academic achievement won senior Hannah Harper the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for October.

A day student, Harper is head day prefect and day mentor for Regester House, one of six residence halls at Darlington. She currently serves as a Tiger Expert, president of the French Club and a member of the National Honor Society; French National Honor Society; National Art Honor Society; and the varsity cross country and soccer teams. She has taken 13 AP and Honors courses at Darlington. 

Harper has received the Junior Class Citizenship Award and was also named a Presbyterian College Fellow. She is the inaugural recipient of the Thornwood Scholarship, which was established by alumnae of the Thornwood School for Girls during the Second Century Campaign. (Thornwood School merged with Darlington in 1973 to form the coeducational institution that exists today).

The daughter of Mary and Andrew Harper of Rome, Hannah was honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Oct. 27.
