Click here to read Emory University's article about college freshman and recent Darlington graduate Rostam Zafari ('14), who has partnered with classmate Brian Goldstone to design a fast and accurate test that they say can identify people suffering from Ebola.

Zafari and Goldstone's proposal to develop REDS, Rapid Ebola Detection Strips, has since turned into a crowdfunding campaign that is gathering steam. On Sept. 12, the two launched a video appeal for REDS on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo. As of today, they’ve received pledges for $9,337, well over halfway to their goal of $14,500. The online campaign will continue until Oct. 12.
