Soccer Academy U19 Boys go undefeated to win Battleground Tournament

Darlington School Soccer Academy took three teams to the Battleground Tournament in Brentwood, Tenn., Sept. 20-21 and the U19 boys returned as Battleground Champions.

"This was a good tournament for our boys' teams to participate in," said Jamey Newsome, assistant director of Darlington School Soccer Academy. "Tennessee Soccer Club ran a good event that provided quality competition out of the Nashville and surrounding areas. We were very proud of the soccer all of our teams played." 

The U19s went undefeated in their run to the championship, allowing zero points on goal. They defeated Lobos Rush Elite 97 (6-0), TSC Elite 15 (4-0), Dickson FC (3-0) and the Vestavia Hills Steamers (4-0). Click here for photos of them in action.

The U17s tied the Murfreesboro Strikers 98 (1-1) and Tennessee SC 18 (0-0) before losing their third game to Tennessee SC 17 (0-1). Click here for photos of them in action.

The U15 boys defeated Aris FC U15 Black 2-0, tied Tennessee SC 19 (2-2) and lost to Tennessee United SC (0-3).

"Each team is improving every time we step on the field," Newsome said. "We can't wait to hit the road this weekend for the Birmingham Bash and see what our teams are able to do."
