Darlington will welcome award-winning singer/songwriter Rebecca Loebe to campus Wednesday to work with Upper School fine arts students and perform a concert during chapel.

"We are so excited to welcome Rebecca to Darlington," said Kim Tunnell, director of fine arts. "She will be working with our Concert Choir, Ladies' Chorale, Guitar Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. What a fabulous way to kick off Fall for the Arts at Darlington!"

You may recognize Loebe as a contestant on Season 1 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Her performance of Nirvana’s "Come As You Are" inspired Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine to offer her mentorship and charted on iTunes worldwide.

Loebe performs hundreds of shows per year throughout the U.S. and in Europe. She has shared the stage with many renowned nationally touring acts, including The Civil Wars, Glen Phillips, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Bacon Brothers, Ellis Paul, Emerson Hart, Jill Sobule, Butch Hancock, Girlyman, AMERICA and more. She was also named one of Music Connection Magazine’s Top 100 Unsigned Artists.

Loebe's indie release, "
Mystery Prize,” spent nine weeks on the Americana Top 40 Chart and was named one of the AMA’s Top 100 Albums of 2010. She is touring nationally to support her third full-length release "Circus Heart," an album that mixes intimate folk with jubilant pop and has received rave reviews from all over the world.

An Atlanta native, Loebe now makes her home in Austin, Texas.
