Darlington School Soccer Academy's Erin Massey, a rising senior at Armuchee High School, has been named Rome News-Tribune Defensive Player of the Year.
Massey, who has been training with Darlington Soccer Academy for the past year, was named to the DiVarsity All-Star team after recording 90 saves and 12 shutouts for the Armuchee Indians. She was diagnosed with leukemia during the season and is currently undergoing treatment.
