Wooten named finalist in Student of the Year competition

Senior Kataeya Wooten has been named a finalist in the Rome Noon Optimist Club Student of the Year competition in the category of Community Involvement.

Wooten is an Elson S. Floyd Scholar, an AP Scholar, an Admission Tiger Expert and a servant leader. She was also named an Outstanding Participant in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program after scoring in the top three percent of more than 160,000 black Americans who took the PSAT. A member of the Headmaster's List, Wooten is a recipient of the Rhodes College Book Award, the St. Lawrence Book Award, The Inkslinger Adviser's Award and the E.L. Wright Award for Yearbook. She is the daughter of  KaTriena Wooten.
