The Middle School boys' basketball team finished their season 12-4 with a runner-up finish in the season-ending tournament. The Tigers beat Cedartown in the first round of the tournament and Coosa in the semifinals before falling to Rockmart in the championship game.

"I couldn't be more proud of this team for what they accomplished this season," said coach Kevin Ivester ('87). "This is a tremendous group of guys who have been working since the first week in November and to make it to the final game was a testament to how hard they played all season."

In the three-game tournament to end the season, three players handled the bulk of the scoring with Nick Mauer averaging 15 points, Andrew Land 12 points, and JD Hull averaging 10 points per game.

"Nick Mauer was an absolute beast for us this year," Ivester said. "He had an amazing eighth-grade year and was our most consistent player overall. Nick is everything you want a team captain to be and does everything a coach could ask of a player."

With the majority of the starters coming back next season, the future is bright for another great run next year.

The members of the team are eighth-graders Tigger Frix, Joseph Ingram, Nick Mauer, Jack McClain, Pierce Monroe, Dalton Stinson, Karl Swiger, and Nolan Wilson; seventh-graders Tommy Atha, David Braden, JD Hull, Andrew Land, and Trey Yunger; and sixth-grader Hank Crawford.
