Darlington School will host "Denim & Diamonds," a one-school fundraiser, on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Huffman Athletic Center’s Van Es Arena. Proceeds will benefit all of Darlington’s parent organizations, including Lower, Middle and Upper School Tiger Pride; the Athletic Booster Club; and the Fine Arts Booster Club.

"A
ttendees are encouraged to 'glam it up' in their favorite jeans in accordance with this year's denim and diamonds theme," said Stacey Albers, dinner and decorating chairperson. "The evening will include cocktails and hor d'oeuvres and a silent auction beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a dinner buffet, entertainment and a live auction. The evening will conclude with the drawing for the reverse raffle."

This year's grand prize is $10,000 cash or tuition credit for your oldest child up to $18,000 (to be used in one school year). Second prize is $2,000 cash. Reverse raffle tickets are $150 and include dinner for two. Dinner-only tickets are $40 for a single ticket or $75 a couple. Tickets may be purchased in the office at each division, from Booster Club members or online by clicking here.

This year's dinner will feature a sirloin carving station with a trio of sauces -- au jus-horseradish cream, rosemary creole mustard sauce, sundried tomato pesto, red onion marmalade, mushroom ragout, accompanied by roasted fingerling potatoes. Additionally, there will be a salad station and a create your own pasta station featuring lobster, truffle oil, bacon, shiitake mushrooms and roasted tomatoes.

"Four years ago, the Athletic Booster Club founded this event as a means of supporting the needs of the athletic department. After meeting with numerous people on campus, the vision of bringing all of the parent organizations together to produce one fundraising event to benefit the entire school developed," said Anne Paige Wilson, director of stewardship. "In just one year, the one-school fundraiser has grown exponentially thanks to the overwhelming support of our parents and the strong foundation laid by Kevin Evans and Mike Lawrence. This year's goal is to raise $100,000 for our parent organizations so that they can continue to enrich the lives of our students and faculty through service, academics, arts and athletics."
