Darlington’s fine arts department will present the Broadway classic “Crazy for You" Feb. 24-26 at Rome City Auditorium. Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday’s show will be at 2:30 p.m.
The story follows Bobby Child (played by junior Will Warren), a well-to-do 1930s playboy whose dream in life is to dance. Despite the serious efforts of his mother (played by senior Meredith Gaffney) and soon-to-be ex-fiance (played by freshman Emma Lewis), he manages to achieve his goal.
"It's a great story that includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance routines and wonderful music," said Kim Tunnell, director of fine arts. "We hope everyone will come out and see the show. The students have been working really hard and it's going to be fabulous!"
The high energy comedy icludes classic numbers like “I Can't Be Bothered Now," "Bidin' My Tim," "I Got Rhythm," "Naughty Baby," "They Can't Take That Away from Me," "But Not for Me," "Nice Work if You Can Get It," "Embraceable You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."
Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens. These tickets are available at Kroger, Traditions of Rome and Darlington School's reception desks, or they may be purchased at the door. Reserved seats are $15 and must be purchased online.
