A Barnes & Noble Book Fair will be held May 13-26 to benefit Darlington School’s libraries.
Anyone purchasing merchandise or refreshments from Barnes & Noble during this two-week period should present a voucher (available via link at top right) or simply let the cashier know that they want Darlington to receive credit, and the school will receive a portion of the sale. Online shoppers may use Bookfair ID 10185791 when checking out.
“The proceeds we collect will be used to purchase more books for the Lower, Middle and Upper School libraries, so we hope everyone will participate,” said Melinda Holmes, director of library services.
Darlington will host the following events at Barnes & Noble's Rome location in conjunction with the fair:
May 13: Fourth-Grade Adjective Self-Portraits, 4 p.m.
May 16: Guitarist Carly Freeman, 7 p.m.
May 17: Poetry Reading, 7 p.m.
May 18: Second-Grade Biographies, 4 p.m.
Darlingtones and Random Notes, 7 p.m.
May 19: Ladies’ and Men’s Chorale, 7 p.m.
May 23: Summer Book Reviews/Story Time, 2 p.m.
May 24: Musical selections from “Annie,” 7 p.m.
May 25: Fifth and Sixth-Grade Chorus, 2:30 p.m.
May 26: Lower School Advanced Strings, 4 p.m.
Fifth and Sixth-Grade Strings, 6 p.m.
“This fair is a wonderful opportunity for Darlington to celebrate our summer reading selections and showcase our talented students at the same time,” Holmes said. “Not only will our students have the opportunity to purchase their summer reading books at Barnes & Noble and support Darlington’s libraries in the process, they will also have a chance to perform or watch their peers perform at a variety of fun events.”
Printable book fair vouchers are available in PDF form via the link at the top right of this page. These may be presented to the Barnes & Noble cashier at purchase time to receive credit. Feel free to share vouchers with friends and family to help raise funds for Darlington libraries.
