To finish up their Santa's toy workshop unit, first grade went to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. They made their own shadow puppets, watched "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and learned about the different types of puppets—marionettes, rod puppets, body puppets, stop motion puppets, shadow puppets and hand puppets. They also got to view puppets from around the globe (including collections from every continent), sets from "Coraline" and models from "Corpse Bride," as well as the world's largest Jim Henson collection.
