On March 5, Darlington hosted a Blood Assurance blood drive in honor of Laura Hicks, ELA-8 Teaching and Learning Center director.
Hicks, husband Wendell, and sons Sawyer ('15) and Gibson ('19) were present to greet and visit with blood donors inside the "Vein Train."
Hicks was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall following a planned bilateral mastectomy. She will complete her last major round of chemotherapy on March 6, and undergo radiation for several weeks beginning in April. Hicks will then take biologic medicine treatments through October.

We love you Mrs. Hicks! Keep up the good fight!
