Jordan Jewels Disguise a Turkey

Friday, November 17, 2017 | By Jess Peer | 252 views

The Jordan Jewels read "T'was the Night Before Thanksgiving" and after reading the story, each student was given a paper turkey that they were responsible for disguising. The class was able to choose from a large selection of materials, including scrapbook paper, glitter, pipe cleaners, construction paper, pom poms, sequins, and string. The goal, was to disguise the turkey in a creative way that would prevent anyone from recognizing it as a turkey, therefor resulting in the turkey not being eaten. The disguises ranged from singers, dancers, animals, to popular movie characters. Once the disguises were complete, students had to write a descriptive paragraph about the turkey's new look. This was a way for the students to practice their knowledge of adjectives. Finally, students will use Chatterpix, an app on their iPads which will allow them to voice over their turkey creations in order to describe their disguise.
