3rd-Graders Go on a Landform Hunt

"We’re Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen is one of my favorite children’s books. With that book in mind, the third-graders set out on a “landform hunt” around our beautiful campus this week during science. They took pictures with their iPads as they discovered common landforms right here on our campus! Many of the students had never ventured up the steep hills of the Billy Goat Trail tucked behind the science building, so that added to our adventure! They quickly realized we had big hills right here on our campus. They will use the pictures to create flashcards of each landform.

After our Landform Hunt, we went to the MakerSpace and completed a Maker Mat activity where they were able to choose which landform they wanted to make out of the materials available in the room. Students really enjoyed getting to be creative!
