First-graders had a great time today as they participated in a fun STEM challenge. The class was broken into five groups, all of whom received the same building materials. Each basket contained tin foil, note cards, mini marshmallows, straws and tape. The challenge was to build the tallest, free-standing tower that would support the weight of one Peep. Students learned the challenge of brainstorming, sharing ideas, working together and sharing the responsibility of creating one project as a group.
