Third-graders began a popsicle bridge challenge during exploratory period today. This STEM activity required students to build a bridge, using only standard wooden popsicle sticks and basic white glue, that will span an 18-inch gap. The maximum structure length is 2 feet, width is 4.5 inches, and height is 4 inches. There must be an unobstructed "roadway" across the bridge to accommodate a toy car. Students worked in groups to get a good start on this task.
