Today, a mystery began to unfold in second grade. After recess, students realized that our large colorful rug at the front of the room was suddenly missing. In its place, were two bottles of rug cleaner and a sponge. The students began to use their inferencing skills to narrow down our search and they finally agreed to pay Mr. Tony a visit. As Mr. Tony returned the supplies to their rightful place, he realized that someone had left additional evidence behind. The two pieces of evidence collected were a middle school book scanner and a book about art. The students brought the evidence back to the classroom where further observation revealed a "to do" list hidden inside of the book. The list gave additional information, some relevant, some not to our "suspect." Finally, the class agreed that the next step was to go to the library to see what we could find out. The case of the missing rug continues....
