At the first Regional Qualifier Tournament this season, our robotics team competed in a field of 16 teams from the metro Atlanta area. They advanced to the final round of competition, and they received the overall awards for both Computer-Aided Design and Robot Control (Programming). The DarBots look forward to their second FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Regional event in January, and to their 7th consecutive appearance in the FTC State Championship on Feb. 18, 2017.
Leading up to the event, the DarBots have participated in several community outreach endeavors, including mentorship of a rookie FTC team from Rome, computer-aided design consulting with Coosa Steel Corporation and promotion of our school's STEM initiatives in the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce's annual Business Expo.
