Darlington qualified six wrestlers for the state championships at the 1A area meet held in Bremen this week. Senior Kevin Sherrill won the area championship at 171 lbs., and Spencer Jones was runner up in the 140 lb. class. Lucas Jennings (130) and Luke Maffett (145) placed third. Ryan Major (152) and James Lee (119) placed fifth. They will all be competing in the 1A state championships starting Feb. 18 in Gwinnett County. The team is coached by Kelly McDurmon, Keith Trotter and Craig Kipp.
