Darlington School
Kimberly Perkins

Kimberly left Darlington in 2017. Like all of Darlington's blogs, hers is left here for archival purposes.

Kim has served as Pre-K to 8 library paraprofessional since 2015. She holds a B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from East Tennessee State University. Kim is no stranger to Darlington, having served previously a substitute teacher and Extended Day volunteer. She also co-chaired Pre-K to 8 Tiger Pride's Community Committee in 2014-15. Prior to her work at Darlington, Kim spent 11 years as a speech-language pathologist in a school setting, providing diagnostic and treatment services for children in PK-12. She has also provided services to infants and toddlers through an early intervention program, as well as to preschool and elementary-aged children through a summer speech-language therapy program. Kim and her husband, Derek, Darlington's director of admission, are the parents of Kathleen ('22) and Elisabeth ('25).

"Turkey Trouble" by Wendi Silvano won the votes of pre-K through first grade by a landslide and it is easy to see why.  Turkey knew he was in terrible trouble, the kind of trouble that means you are set to be the main course for Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully, Turkey had a plan...a very silly and hilarious plan indeed.  What if he could disguise himself like one of the other farm animals? Will Turkey’s idea fool the farmer?  Will he find the perfect disguise?

Please read "Turkey Trouble" to find out because there is an unexpected twist at the end.  I’ll give you a hint...it involves pizza!
