Katherine Ann Haney and Patrick O’Neill Dollar were married at 5 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Eufaula, Ala.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew David Haney of Macon. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ann B. Corcoran of Eufaula, Alabama and Mrs. Jewel M. Haney of Eufaula, and the late Mr. W.L. Corcoran and Mr. A.D. Haney.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Baxter Dollar of Rome. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Baxter E. Dollar of Snellville and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Jasper O’Neill.
The Rev. David Burgess performed the ceremony.
A program of wedding music consisted of “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “For the Beauty of the Earth,” “Canon in D,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” and “Hornpipe.”
Nancy Stone, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kristin Corbitt of Dunwoody, Xela Dollar of Sacramento, Calif., Michelle Lynes of Savannah, April Roland of Suwanee, and Corie Segrest of Birmingham, Ala.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an ivory strapless Italian lace gown with an ivory sash. Her elbow-length veil was double-tiered. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white hydrangea.
The wedding cake was a four tiered confection decorated in ivory icing with a lace design and garnished with hydrangea blooms. The groom had a red velvet cake decorated with a navy and pink bow tie on top.
Michael Dollar, brother of the groom, was the best man.
Groomsmen were Christopher Akstin of Alexandria, Va., Andrew Haney and John Haney, both of Macon, Harry Johnson IV of Rome, William Kurtz, and Christopher Russo of Scottsville, Va.
The mother of the bride wore a formal sage green floor length dress accented with sequins on the top. The mother of the groom wore a double-breasted two-piece frosty blue taffeta dress with ruffle accent around the neckline and the cuffs with a godet hem to the back.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Shorter Mansion.
The evening before a dinner was hosted by the groom’s family at the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce.

A wedding day brunch was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Clark in Eufaula.
Following a wedding trip to Crescent Beach, Fla., the couple resides in Athens.

Greetings to the class of 2000. I wanted to share some really good news! On August 19th 2006 I married the lovely Jan Scott Swetenburg in Charlotte, NC. She was and is beautiful. Allen Babcock was a groomsmen, and to my surprise, actually kept my head on straight during much of the wedding weekend. Several Darlington friends made it to Charlotte for the wedding, and for that Jan Scott and I will always be grateful. I have one more year of Divinity School at Duke in NC. Please give us a call if you're ever in North Carolina!

Elizabeth Maury Stegall and Justin Russell Hitchcock were married March 5, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Rome. The couple lives in Atlanta.

Dr. and Mrs. John Joseph Beninato of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter Leigh Ann Beninato to Joseph Calloway Holmes III, son of Joseph Calloway Holmes Jr. of Cedartown and the late Gerry Edmonds Holmes.
Miss Beninato is a 2000 graduate of Darlington School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and was a 2001 Rome Symphony Debutante. She is employed as the communications coordinator at Turner Enterprises Inc. in Atlanta.
The bride-elect is the sister of Leslie Marie Beninato of Boone, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Marie Dorothy of Rome, the late Walter Warren Dorothy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph John Beninato.
Holmes is a 2000 graduate of Darlington School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate. As an undergraduate, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and the UGA golf team. He is employed as the development manager at R.H. Ledbetter Properties Inc. in Rome.
The groom-elect is the brother of Amy Holmes Dempsey of Rome and Mary Genevieve Holmes of Cedartown. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Edmonds and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Calloway Holmes.
The wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Morris Chapel, Darlington School in Rome. A reception will follow at Coosa Country Club.

Meredith is a student at Auburn University majoring in special education. She will have a winter wedding this coming December in her hometown. Meredith's fiance, from her hometown, plays baseball for the Chicago Cubs. Meredith plans on finishing school and teaching in an elementary school.

Connie Lee, a Rome native, was recently elected president by her medical student peers to represent Emory University, Medical College of Georgia, Mercer University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Family and Medicine Interest Groups on the 2008 Georgia Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors.
In her role as the student director, she is the liaison between the family medicine interest groups at the five medical schools in the state and the GAFP for issues such as residency training.
Lee graduated cum laude from Darlington School in 2000. In 2004, she graduated from Emory University with a B.S. in neuroscience and behavioral biology and a minor in music, with an emphasis on piano literature.
She entered Georgia’s first osteopathic medical school — the Georgia campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine — in 2006.
She is the daughter of Keon and Ann Lee of Rome.

2008 has been a busy and hectic year for Lauren and myself here in Kenya. Despite the tragedy of the post-election violence we were able to celebrate the birth of our wonderful son Graham Joseph Minshew on May 26th and start a new outdoor adventure teambuilding company, BlueSky Adventures, with a couple of friends.

Former Darlington football player Blake Rolan has been named the running backs coach at the University of West Georgia.
Rolan is a 2000 graduate of Darlington School where he was a four-year letterman in football. He was a two-time all-area seclection, a second team all-state Class A performer, and the team MVP his senior year. He passed for 1,800 yards his senior year. He was a part of Darlington's 1998 state championship team coached by Jerry Sharp.
Rolan went on to play at Middle Tennessee State beofre transferring and graduating in 2005 from the University of Louisville. He was an offensive graduate assistant in 2008 at Auburn.
