Summary Information Darlington provides so much information in this area that it can sometimes be overwhelming! That's why the first page you'll see everytime you log in is the academic summary page show here on the right, which gives you a quick look at current class standings. Perhaps the most important section on this page is the "New Additions" section at the bottom. It offers a summary of all recently added information, so that you can always tell what has changed since you last looked. You'll also be able to track recent student photos, read important announcements, and access special sign-ups. Did we mention e-mail updates? You'll get them automatically at the end of each day that something changes in this area. But if you're like most of our parents and students, you won't need it because you'll be checking the Web site everyday! |

Gradebook Go ahead. Take a look into your teacher's gradebook. At Darlington, you can look as much as you want. There's only one catch: you can only look at your own grades, but how much did you expect?! With grades available as soon as the teacher enters them—alongside class averages for an objective comparison—the gradebook has become a primary resource for all of our parents and students (grades 4 and up). And though you may wonder how we talked our teachers into exposing their gradebooks to the Web, they are the ones who perhaps love it the most. Besides, what could be wrong with letting students and their parents know how they're doing in class?! |

Averages The "averages" area gives you a look back at how your average has changed over the trimester and year. While the gradebook shows you an up-to-the-minute average and all the assignments that went into making that average, this area tracks your overall progress over time. |

Comments Academics isn't all objective. Teachers will frequently leave comments here to update parents on student progress, class developments, or just to say 'Hi!'. You can also keep the conversation going by quickly responding to any comment with the click of a button. |

Attendance Come to class every day, on time, and you'll never have to check this section. But when that inevitable absence or tardy happens, you'll see it here, along with a note on whether it was excused and why (i.e., doctor appointment). |

Assignments At Darlington, you'll never wonder what's happening during class or what your homework is. All of our teachers provide a detailed listing of classwork and homework assignments for at least a week at a time. On one page, you'll see all the homework that's to be done for the night, and what to expect for the next day in class. If you have to be out of school, you can even use this section to keep up with your work. And you can always flip backward or forward, to see what you've done or what's coming up. |

Conduct Enough said, really. Hopefully there won't be too much action on this page! Conduct incidents are listed here by date as well as any demerits and detention hours assigned. To balance things out, darBucks, Darlington's merit system, are also included here. |

Photographs Darlington teachers love to take photos of their students and most of these end up on the Web site for your enjoyment. In this section, we take traditional photo galleries to the next level and show you a customized gallery of all images associated with your student. Think of it as your personalized Darlington scrapbook, courtesy of your student's teachers! |

Permanent Record Although this sounds rather imposing, this section simply lists a record of all final grades received at Darlington. For students transferring from another school, all ninth through twelfth grade records are listed regardless of school. |
