Darlington School is committed to making educational opportunities available to as many academically qualified students as possible regardless of

opportunities, Darlington may be within reach for your family. We encourage you to speak with DeLean Brandon about these options.

All students applying to Darlington have the opportunity to also apply for financial aid, and we encourage you to do so. Many of our families qualify for assistance.
The financial aid application process is handled by School and Student Services (SSS), a third-party agent that then makes a recommendation to Darlington regarding a family’s ability to pay. Many factors are considered by SSS when evaluating need, some of which include family size, the number of children attending tuition-charging schools, and assets and liabilities not reflected in household income.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
Step 1: Online Application
Complete the SSS Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) form online at http:/sss.nais.org (Darlington School‘s code is 2734). Returning families must complete this form by Jan. 15. Prospective families should complete the PFS when applying for admission. Late applications will be accepted based on availability, and awards may be limited.
Step 2: Financial Documents
Provide a copy of your 2015 tax return (1040 form and all schedules) along with copies of your 2015 W-2s to Darlington School. Your 2015 information should be submitted no later than Dec. 31, 2016. Upon availability, copies of your 2016 W-2s and your 2016 tax return must also be submitted to the school.
Step 3: Review by Committee
Upon review by Financial Aid Committee, decisions are made based on a family’s demonstrated need. Being eligible for assistance does not guarantee there will be sufficient financial aid available, so the best thing to do is apply early.
Step 4: Sign Confidentiality Agreement
Each year, all families receiving financial aid must sign a confidentiality agreement. All information provided to establish need is held in strict confidence by Darlington School; likewise, we request the specifics of your award package be kept confidential by you and your student.
Families who are still considering Darlington for 2017-18 school year are encouraged to contact DeLean Brandon to discuss opportunities for financial assistance that are still available.
