CITA Detailed Schedule and Information

  1. Mondays through Thursdays 4 to 6 p.m. – Academy Drills
    1. 4–4:10 p.m. Warm up
    2. 4:10–4:20 p.m. Speed and Agility Drills
      • Court movement simulation
      • First step
      • Initiation (fast reaction)
      • Control and balance (stopping to hit the ball)
      • Recovery (getting ready for the next shot)
    3. 4:20 5 p.m. Fed Drills (to improve stroke bio-mechanics)
      • Getting the whole body involved in every shot
      • Grip
      • Rotation
      • Body weight transfer
      • High repetition
      • Intensity
    4. 5 to 5:50 p.m. Live Ball Drills
      • Putting new technique into real match situation
      • Learning patterns (thinking several shots ahead)
      • Awareness of court location (from which part of the court to take the offense or defense)
      • When to pull the trigger
      • Match situation (starting match 4-2 up love 30)
    5. 5:50 to 6 p.m. Cool Down
  2. Weekly one-hour private lesson
    Work on each player’s specific needs, including:
    • Serve
    • Volleys
    • Groundstroke
    • Slice
    • Overhead
    • Mental game
    • Patterns based on style of play
  3. Strength and Conditioning
    Every CITA participant will meet weekly with a personal trainer to follow up on his or her personal strength and flexibility program.
  4. Tournament Traveling
    • CITA participants travel to at least one tournament per month.
    • Tournament coaching to local, sectional and national events depends on the skill level of the player.
    • Tournament cost is not included and will vary depending on tournament location.
  5. Nutrition
    • Personal trainers assign players a recommended balanced diet to perform at peak-level.
