Birthplace of Rome:  1834

Home-on-the-Hill is rightly called the birthplace of Rome.  The story of that birth includes a chance meeting, a relative in high places, and a lucky hat.  Eavesdrop on Rome's founders as they lay the plan for a city that thrives to this day.

History of Home-on-the-Hill: 1832-1923

Home-on-the-Hill began as a plantation house overlooking an entire valley.  Ninety years later the home was the most popular entertainment spot in Rome.   Walk through these transformations and meet the fascinating men and women who make up the history of  Home-on-the-Hill.
