The Study Hall Bell
The occasion for this photo was the defeat of McCallie School in the annual Darlington /McCallie football game. According to Dr. Wilcox's wife, Amzie, he told the students that if they won the football game they could all "dress like a fool" to celebrate. Thanks to Mrs. Wilcox for clearing that up. We wondered what prompted the dignified Dr. Wilcox to wear a firemanšs hat and short little tie standing in the front of the study hall. You can see the old study hall bell on the wall.
