Charla Brewster, dean of grades 5 & 6, has taught at Darlington’s Lower and Middle Schools for more than 30 years. She holds a B.S. in Education from The University of Georgia and has taught grades 1, 2, 3 and 5. During her tenure, she has received many awards for her work with students, including the prestigious Brown Award and the Beachum Master Teaching Award. Charla and her husband, Bill, are the parents of Middle School Learning Specialist Jennifer (Brewster) Helbing (’98) and Rachel (Brewster) Marek (’95).
