Jump into the fun of cheerleading this summer! Learn tons of new cheers, perform age-appropriate stunts, improve technique, and build your repertoire of moves and formations. Each day of camp has a unique outfit theme. To conclude the week, campers will show off their talents as they put on a pep rally for parents and friends in Darlington’s Van Es Arena. Directing camp this summer are Darlington’s varsity cheerleading coaches, Jenni Butler and Stephanie Corwin, and their squad of varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders.
A pep rally on Friday will cap the week's activities.
Jenni Butler has coached cheerleading for five years at Darlington School and Cedartown Middle School. In 2007, she initiated a competitive Middle School cheerleading program at Darlington. Since then, competition cheerleading has grown annually through the addition of varsity and junior varsity programs. Stephanie Corwin (’03) is in her third year of coaching at Darlington. Previously, she taught gymnastics at Rome-Floyd Gymnastics Center. Both Jenni and Stephanie are certified by NCSSE to coach advanced stunts and tumbling. In addition to being AACAA safety certified, they are also certified in First Aid, CPR and have AED training.
