Game Summary
First scrimmage vs. another school. Missing 5 Starters. Good opportunity to see who was ready to step up and also diagnose what lessons have been internalized and which ones need more work thus far.
Some very poor team defending in the first half put us in a big hole. Got one goal back in the first have with some nice soccer from Tevin and Hollis with an excellent finish. Second half, even though we were down to 10 men with an unfortunate Red Card (Hand Ball) to Andre, we played much better in both phases of the game. Defensive shape was a little better. The passing and moving off the ball was much better. Another nice goal from us in the 2nd half. Although still left WAY TOO MUCH SPACE for them in the midfield, we were at least committed more to the cause in the 2nd half in terms of defending. Glad we had a tough first test. Helped us see what we need to work on next. Good effort. Don't like losing and don't like poor play even more, but I was very encouraged by how we kept improving several key items throughout the game. We will be better for it.

Another step in the journey. Some things were much better than against CC. This team was much better than CC. Very unfortunate that Billy was out after 6 min and our other GK went home sick. I think if we were at full strength, that's a game that could go either way. They had some nice players and a LOT of pace. This was another tough test early. Some players showed they belonged on this stage and some showed they still have a lot to learn. Pleased with the efforts by all. Rome was not built in a day. Nor is a quality soccer team. Keep up the good work boys. You'll get there.

Game Summary
This was a bittersweet game. Overall, I'm happy. The things we worked on this week and have been talking about defensively and in possession from the backline into the midfield were SO much better. The defending as a team was excellent. Really was. Some 1v1 defending could be better, but the team concept and understanding was much clearer. Only problem was set plays. All four goals off of set plays. We need to be MUCH more determined, focused on our task/role when it comes to these moments. The last one was the worst. Wait until you see it on film. Tremendously bad defending on that play. Which is a shame, because as a team, you were so good the rest of the game. Other than set pieces, I truly think you guys were the better team. So, as frustrating as that was/is, overall I was pleased with the effort and look forward to the next match!

Pretty pleased with the match considering all of the talent that was not there. People stepped up and filled in admirably. Defensively things are starting to look better. In possession, we are starting to think the right way but there is not enough urgency in the final third. Although it was better in the second half. Created some very good chances and good goal. In all a good effort and our first win. Good work. Here's to many more.

A bit sloppy at times, but a hard fought win. Two goals from Andre. Big blow toone Krisztian in his first gAmerican with the us. Hope it's just a temporary setback. They played with 3 up top, so it was hard to play out of here back, but the midfield found some good spaces and werected able to play our front runners in very well. Especially in the second half. Good tough win. Great job keeping your cool when things got chippy.

Game Summary
Started off well enough. They were a very good team. Athletic, quick, very technical and moved well off the ball. That said, we had pretty good defensive shape and were steady. When we won the ball, we were dangerous going forward when we played to feet in the midfield and looked to penetrate in the final third. A) losing Spencer hurt. B) 1v1 defending broke down WAY too often. that pulled us OUT of good defensive shape. Which, in turn, pulled us out of good attacking shape when we did win it and then we were very impatient and inaccurate with our passing when we did. We made some mistakes I thought we had moved past, but perhaps it's good to learn/relearn lessons NOW so we don't make them when we play teams in our own class when they count. That said, this was a very good team (State Finalist in 3A last year). Yes, we have injures, but as a team the mentality is "Next Man Up". That's why we train. Together. Next person that steps on the field should know the role and how to execute it. For the most part, that has been the case. Good work. Rest. You've earned it! See you Monday.

Really proud of the effort today. If we had 10 more minutes I think we would have won. We were finding a pretty decent rhythm going forward and the defense was holding firm and you guys were starting to figure out how to press effectively in their end when we lost the ball. A few excellent chances in the 2nd half went begging, but it is encouraging that we are starting to create more chances and our play out of the back into the midfield was much better in the second half. and TONS better than last game.

Tough game to come back from Spring Break. We were not as sharp as we had been before break. We made some mistakes we hadn't made in a long time. Frustrating and cold game against a very good squad. They are #1 in the state for a reason. That said, it will hopefully jumpstart the rest of the spring for us and help us have that goal and pace of play in mind as we train.

Very tough and frustrating game on an incredibly skinny field. It was only 50 yards wide. Our home field is nearly 70 yards wide...
Very proud of the result and the discipline you all showed tonight. Some good soccer played and if not for a couple great saves and 1 illegal save by their GK, we could have won by much more. We knew what we were getting into and you handled it well. Now let's build on that and keep going!

Game Summary
Missing Andre hurt our ability to break them down in the final third, but I thought we played very well overall. A few mistakes to learn from, but I thought we were in the game with a chance to get a result until they called the PK. Sketchy. But again, it's not the ref's fault we lost. We didn't make some plays and they did. That was the difference in the match. They had some individuals who made some very nice plays when they needed. We did too, don't get me wrong! But they had a few more. Defensively too. Their GK made a couple very nice stops. All in all, pleased with the result, especially since we had to move people around again with some injuries and already missing Andre up top.

Game Summary
The lightning delay made for an interesting evening. That said, I thought we played very well for the most part. Defense was very good most of the time. Possession through the back and midfield was very good. We just need to continue to take risks and get more aggressive in the final third. No one will GIVE you a goal. You have to TAKE IT. Move, run, shoot, cross. Do so quickly and aggressively in that final third. We had a few good opportunities, but we need to have A) better technique in front to goal to get ball on frame B) which will improve confidence in our risk taking.

Game Summary
We were never in danger of losing this one I don't think, but it took us 42 minutes to break them down. They played 6 defenders across the back and running with 3 up top wasn't going to get it done. Even though the outside backs did a good job getting forward into the game and adding to the attack at times. We needed to adjust. So, we went to basically a 4-2-4 in the 2nd half and we pulled them apart with width and good runs from the center forwards. Kristzian did a good job running with the ball in the middle to commit defenders and open them up as well. Good work. Next week we have no games, so we can work hard and then rest over the next weekend. Proud of the effort and skill last night. Well done.

Game Summary
Heart breaking loss. Though it was definitely not our best outing, we had enough chances to come out on top. As cliche as it sounds, it simply did not bounce our way tonight. Difficult way to end the season. So proud of the effort not only tonight but all season from all of the boys.
